Weekend Emeryville PD Nixle Alerts for Bay Street Robbery, Denny’s Brawl

The Emeryville PD issued two Nixle alerts this weekend. One was for a brawl at the Powell Street Denny’s where a woman was arrested for battery on a peace officer following a 15 person brawl. The other alert was for a robbery at Bay Street where two teens were arrested. The Nixle service provides alerts from local agencies to one’s mobile device or email address.


Woman robbed by teens at Bay Street Shopping Center

Emeryville Police Officers were on a security detail at the Bay Street Shopping Center on Sunday, January 28th at 6:40 p.m.. Officers were on the second-floor platform just above the courtyard. They heard screaming coming from the ground level. Officers went downstairs and saw several subjects running and being chased by a victim. The female victim yelled to the officers that the subjects running stole her purse.

Officers detained two out of the four suspects. Officers attempted to locate the victim’s purse and the outstanding suspects and could not locate them. Officers spoke to the victim and she said the suspects attacked her from behind. The suspects threw a drink at the victim and started to beat her. The victim dropped her purse and one of the suspects picked it up and ran.

The two detained subjects were positively identified as the suspects by witnesses and the victim. The juvenile suspects were placed under arrest. The suspects were transported to Juvenile Hall on robbery charges. The victim suffered minor injuries and refused medical attention.

Woman Arrested for Battery on a Peace Officer after Denny’s Brawl

On 01/27/18 at approximately 4:00 A.M., Emeryville Police Officers responded to a call of a group of 10-15 people fighting involving a baseball bat at the Denny’s restaurant located at 1776 Powell Street.

While investigating the reported crime and separating the involved parties, a female committed a battery on an officer and resisted arrest. The female was arrested for Battery on a Peace Officer and Resisting Arrest. A baseball bat was located at the scene and recovered by officers.

The arrestee was identified as Oakland resident, Kamisha Haley, 35 years old.
