Traffic Stop Leads to Recovery of Stolen Firearm, Arrest of Three Juveniles

A traffic stop near the East Bay Bridge Shopping Center led to the recovery of a stolen firearm and arrests of four on Wednesday, October 16.

Emeryville Police Department Officers made a traffic enforcement stop on the 4000 block of Hollis Street about 9:21 p.m. An officer smelled an odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the car. The officer conducted a probable cause search of the car. The officer located a loaded firearm under the front passenger seat.

The firearm was reported stolen from a Bay Area police agency. The driver of the car, Stacy Tidwell, was placed under arrest for possessing a stolen loaded firearm and carrying a concealable firearm within a vehicle.

Tidwell was transported to jail for booking. The three juveniles occupants were also placed under arrest for weapon charges. The juveniles were transported to Juvenile Hall.
