The March 2019 Emeryville Crime Report saw 245 total crimes reported for the month (up from the 238 reported in February).
The report lists two laptop strong-arm robberies at Peet’s as well as one in front of the Bay Street Apple store.
The Pak ‘N Save continues to be a hub of criminal activity with an armed robbery in the store and the stabbing of a transient in the area behind it.
Violent crime is up a troubling 32% from this time last year.
There may be an uptick in motorcycle thefts as the report lists three outstanding thefts. An Oliver Lofts resident was the recent victim of the theft of his 2017 Aprilia Tuono V4. The surveillance video above shows a man casing the bike then later returning with a crew with a flatbed truck to steal it.
Property Crimes are up 22% from this time last year.
Overall, crimes reported for 2019 are on an 23% upward trajectory from last year.

Urban Outfitters, 5903 Shellmound St.: A strong-arm robbery occurred. A shoplifter used force to steal merchandise. LOSS: Sweatshirt. SUSPECT: Female, 5’6”, with one side of her head shaved.
IFO 6399 Christie Ave.: A female was hit on the head with an unknown object. LOSS: Purse and cell phone. SUSPECT: Female, teenager, heavy-set.
Public Market, 5959 Shellmound St.: A strong-arm robbery occurred. LOSS: Cellphone in a wallet case containing an I.D. card and credit card. SUSPECTS: (2) males, 18-20. SUSPECT VEHICLE: Nissan Altima, silver occupied with five other males.

IFO Victoria’s Secret, 5672 Bay St.: A strong-arm robbery occurred. Four female shoplifters used force to steal merchandise. LOSS: Multiple “Pink” clothing. SUSPECT VEHICLE: Black sedan.
Victoria’s Secret, 5672 Bay St.: An argument between two females over a parking place resulted in a physical altercation. The victim’s cell phone and glasses were taken by force. The phone was recovered shortly thereafter.
Sephora, 5626 Bay St.: A strong-arm robbery occurred. Three suspects used forced to steal merchandise. SUSPECTS: (2) female adults, (1) male adult. SUSPECT VEHICLE: 2018 Nissan Versa, black missing the front passenger hubcap.
IFO the Apple Store, 5640 Bay St.: A strong-arm robbery occurred. LOSS: Laptop – Just purchased from the apple store. SUSPECT: Male, thin build.
Bay Street Mall Garage level 1A: A strong-arm robbery occurred. LOSS: Cell phone. SUSPECT: Male juvenile.

40th/Watts St.: A male was robbed by an acquaintance. LOSS: Shoes, cell phone, hoody, and identification. SUSPECT: Male, 35 years old, 6’1”, 250 lbs.
CVS Pharmacy, 4349 San Pablo Ave.: A strong-arm robbery occurred. A female shoplifter used force to steal merchandise. LOSS: Makeup. SUSPECT: Female, 40s, with bleached blond shoulder length hair.

Adeline St./San Pablo Ave.: A strong-arm robbery occurred. LOSS: Cell phone. SUSPECTS: #1 Male, 40 years old, 5’8” – 5’10”, black jacket and dark pants. #2 Male, 5’8” – 5’10”, slender build, wearing dark clothing.
7-Eleven, 4000 San Pablo Ave.: A strong-arm robbery occurred. A shoplifter used force to steal merchandise. LOSS: Cigarettes. SUSPECT: Male, 50-60 years old, with a beard, wearing a gray beanie, a leather jacket, a light yellow button up shirt, and black pants.

Pak N Save, 3889 San Pablo Ave.: A robbery at gunpoint occurred. LOSS: Miscellaneous grocery. SUSPECT: Male, 50s, skinny, 5’6”, salt/pepper unshaven facial hair, dark jacket, and blue jeans.
Home Depot, 3838 Hollis St.: A shoplifter swung a screwdriver at a loss prevention officer to steal merchandise. LOSS/RECOVERED: Toolset and screwdriver. EPD arrested the suspect shortly thereafter.
Parking lot of Nordstrom’s, 3839 Emery St.: #100: A strong-arm robbery occurred. LOSS: Cell phone. LOSS/RECOVERED: Purse. SUSPECTS: (3) Males, early 20s, wearing a blue hat, white sweatshirt, and blue jeans.

65th/Overland St.: A road rage incident between a bicyclist and motorist resulted in the motorist sideswiping the bicyclist with his vehicle’s sideview mirror. SUSPECT: Older male. SUSPECT VEHICLE: Older model Toyota Camry, gold.
District 7
CVS Pharmacy, 4349 San Pablo Ave.: A male transient swung a metal kick stand at the security guard but did not hit the guard. EPD arrested the suspect shortly thereafter. SUSPECT: Male, 60 years old, 5’8”.
District 8
IFO Rob Ben’s Restaurant, 3627 San Pablo Ave.: A domestic violence incident resulted in a male choking his wife. EPD arrested the male shortly thereafter.
District 9
Rear of Pak N Save, 3889 San Pablo Ave.: A male transient stabbed another male transient. SUSPECT: Male, 3-40 years old.
Commercial Burglary
District 2
5800 Horton St.: An unknown male suspect broke into the garage. An employee noticed the suspect and asked him to exit the garage. The suspect complied, however he left his bicycle and backpack containing burglary tools. LOSS: None. SUSPECT: Male wearing a ski mask, 5’6” – 5’7”, thin build.
District 3
Innovative Interfaces Inc., 5850 Shellmound St.: POE: Door – Pried. LOSS: None. An unknown suspect left behind soiled clothing and cellphones. A second burglary occurred at Innovative Interfaces Inc. EPD responded to the scene and arrested a male and female. LOSS: None.
District 7
Ann Martin Center, 1375 55th St.: An unknown suspect entered the parking lot and dumped a pile of mail on the ground. The mail belonged to Loop 22 residents.
Residential Burglary
District 2
64XX Hollis St., #XXX: POE: Door. Two suspects entered the complex and stole a package from the front door. EPD arrested both suspects shortly thereafter.
District 3
63XX Christie Ave.: An attempted burglary occurred. Unknown suspects used a pry tool to force open a unit door, however they were unsuccessful. The maintenance supervisor scared off the suspects.
District 6
13XX Powell St.: #XXX, POE: Front door – Pried. LOSS: Wallet and empty duffle bag.
District 8
39XX Adeline St.: POE: Bicycle Room. LOSS: None. EPD arrested the suspect shortly thereafter.
14XX 45th St., POE: Unknown – No sign of forced entry. LOSS: (2) Bicycles. A second burglary occurred at the same location, different unit. POE: Unknown – No sign of forced entry. LOSS: (1) bottle of wine. SUSPECT: Male, thin build. EPD arrested the suspect, a known transient, a few days later.
