Suspected Auto burglar responsible for Emeryville Lockdown Arrested in Hayward

A suspected auto burglar that fled on foot leading to a lockdown of the Emeryville Peninsula area three weeks ago, was finally arrested in Hayward last Tuesday. The pursuit involved a Helicopter, K-9 units and the issuance of a “Shelter-in-place” order by the authorities that included the EPD, OPD & CHP. Fremont police are following up on leads of individuals responsible for helping the suspect evade officers during the pursuit.

Ricky Joseph, 27, of San Francisco was spotted near a Hayward apartment complex and again fled but was this time was apprehended by police. Joseph was booked at Santa Rita Jail on charges of auto burglary, resisting arrest, possession of stolen property, being a felon in possession of a loaded firearm and ammunition, possession of a stolen firearm, and for a probation violation.

FREMONT — A San Francisco man was arrested this week on suspicion of burglarizing several cars and leading police on a pursuit last month, officials said.

Officers arrested Ricky Joseph, 27, of San Francisco, Tuesday at an apartment complex near Carlos Bee and Hayward boulevards in Hayward, according to Fremont police. Joseph was wanted for a slew of auto burglaries throughout the Bay Area and a police chase involving several East Bay agencies.

As officers approached Joseph, he ran toward California State University, East Bay. A Fremont police K-9 was dispatched and apprehended the suspect before he reached the campus.
