The Emeryville Crime Report for May includes 194 total crimes (up from 185 in April). Emeryville experienced its second reported incident of rape in as many months as well as its second carjacking of the year. No specific address was provided for the reported rape but it appears to have been committed within or adjacent to the Watergate community. Petty thefts again were the largest statistical crime committed in the city accounting for over 40% of all crimes reported. District 10, which is predominantly occupied by our Target store, experienced 26 petty thefts over the course of the month (13.4% of all crimes reported in the city). Both violent and simple assaults plummeted from April.

Captain Dr.: A female reported being raped.
Victoria’s Secret, 5672 Bay St.: A shoplifter threatened to assault an employee when the employee attempted to retrieve the stolen merchandise. The suspect then fled the area.
IFO Trader Joe’s, 5700 Christie Ave.: An unknown suspect simulated a gun and demanded the victim’s laptop. SUSPECTS:#1 Hispanic male, 5’5”, 180 lbs., wearing a dark long sleeve shirt. #2 Hispanic male, 5’5”, wearing a dark long sleeve shirt. #3 Unknown description. LOSS: Apple Macbook Pro 15” laptop, silver, Serial #C02P78T3G3QD.
IFO 4525 Hollis St.: A robbery at gunpoint occurred. The suspect pointed a gun at the victim’s head and ripped the victim’s necklace off of her neck. The suspect demanded the victim’s watch, took items from the victim’s vehicle and fled the area. SUSPECT: Black male, 5’7”, no further description. SUSPECT VEHICLE: Black 4-Door, no further description.
1195 Park Ave.: An attempted robbery occurred. SUSPECTS: #1 Black male, 22-26 years old, 6’0”, 160 lbs, wearing a red shirt, tattoo right side of neck, unknown type. #2 Black male, 22-26 years old, 6’0”, wearing a gray hoodie. LOSS: None.
Park Ave. & San Pablo Ave.: An unknown suspect robbed two males at gunpoint. LOSS: A wallet and a cell phone. SUSPECT: Black male, no further description.
CVS Pharmacy, 4349 San Pablo Ave.: A shoplifter pushed past the employee and fled the store with merchandise. SUSPECT: Black male, 5’6”, 150 lbs., bald, wearing an orange and white striped shirt and blue jeans.
Nordstrom’s Rack, 3839 Emery St., #100: A shoplifter attempted to punch the loss prevention agent twice and pulled the merchandise from the agent’s hand. The suspect fled the area with the loss.
Nordstrom’s Rack, 3839 Emery St., #100: A shoplifter pushed the loss prevention officer and fled the store with the merchandise. EPD arrested the suspect shortly thereafter.
Target, 1555 40th St.: A shoplifter became combative and pushed past security officers with store merchandise. SUSPECT: White female, no further description.
Pak n Save, 3889 San Pablo Ave.: A shoplifter stole steaks and tried to punch the store manager to escape. The suspect fled with the merchandise. SUSPECT: Black male, 6’1”, 300 lbs., wearing a gray hoodie and orange vest. #2 (Driver) Black male, black jacket. SUSPECT VEHICLE: Black Chevy. The vehicle was located with the steaks inside. The loss was recovered and the vehicle was towed.
Parking garage of 6401 Shellmound St.: A carjacking at knife point occurred. A female suspect took another females’ motor scooter at knife point. EPD later recovered the motor scooter and arrested one female suspect.
EMME Apartments, 6350 Christie Ave.: A male attempted to hit his ex-wife with his vehicle. The suspect fled the area.
45th and San Pablo Ave.: Unknown suspect(s) fired multiple paint balls at a female while she was riding her bicycle.
Novartis, 5353 Horton St.: Parking structure 1: An unknown suspect climbed the security gate, entered the garage and forcibly removed two CCTV cameras from the 7th floor.
9 Catering Services, 1607 63rd St.: An unknown suspect entered the business by unknown means, used bolt cutters to cut five locks off lockers and stole and unknown amount of cash.
Public Storage, 6501 Shellmound St.: POE: Storage locker – Lock sawed off. LOSS: A suitcase, handbags, and a 27 inch flat screen TV.
5858 Horton St.: POE: Garage. LOSS/Recovered: A bicycle. EPD arrested the suspect shortly thereafter.
Pacific Park Plaza, 6363 Christie Ave.: POE: Garage. LOSS/Recovered: (2) bicycles. EPD arrested two suspects.
The Marina 3310 Powell St., laundry room: An unknown suspect broke into the change machine. LOSS: Unknown amount of currency.
3 Captain Dr. #D407: Unfounded.
1588 Brunswig Lane: POE: Garage. LOSS/Recovered: A bicycle.
1500 Park Ave., POE: Garage. LOSS: (2) Bicycles – Bicycle locks defeated. A second burglary occurred in the garage, in which a bicycle corral and a wagon were stolen. EPD arrested a suspect a day later.
4254 Halleck St.: Unfounded.
1071 47th St.: POE: Front door – Forced open. LOSS: A laptop and a Strawberry Cheesecake.
Of the 14 vehicles reported stolen:
