Emeryville Police are on the lookout for a suspect involved in a snatch & run style robbery at Nordstrom Rack on Tuesday evening. The thief also pulled a handgun on a Nordstrom loss prevention agent according to an EPD media advisory.
According to the report, the suspect entered the store at about 7:09 p.m., walked directly to a rack of purses and ripped four of them from a security cable. The suspect then fled through the front doors and began riding away on a bicycle. A loss prevention agent exited out a rear door in an attempt to apprehend the suspect through a citizen’s arrest and recover the loss. The suspect then reportedly produced a handgun and pointed it at the loss prevention agent who feared for his safety and ran. The suspect then fled the scene. Officers searched the area for the suspect were unable to locate him. No injuries were reported.
The suspect that appears in the grainy surveillance photo above is described as a Black Male Adult; 45-50 yrs old, 5’10” – 6’ tall, with a medium build. He was wearing a blue knit cap, grey zip up jacket with red lining and light-colored pants. He was wearing this Roxy brand backpack that was recovered from the scene. The East Bay Times is reporting that the stolen purses were Michael Kors brand with a value of more than $600.
