Emeryville PD Nabs Suspected Armed GameStop Robber, Recover Firearm, Stolen Cash

On Saturday evening at approximately 9:25 p.m, Emeryville Police Officers responded to GameStop on Hollis for a report of an armed robbery of the store. Store employees provided the responding officers a suspect description.

An officer searched the area for the suspect and located a possible suspect in West Oakland. The possible suspect hid from the officer and then ran throwing an object into a commercial yard. The possible suspect was detained and then positively identified as the robbery suspect by store employees.

Officers located the stolen cash on the suspect. Officers also located a loaded firearm in the commercial yard where the suspect threw the object into. Store employees identified the recovered firearm as the same one used in the robbery. The suspect was arrested for robbery and gun possession charges.

The suspect, later identified as 54-year-old Donald Jackson of Oakland, was booked at Santa Rita County Jail and is being held on $295,000 bail. Jackson has a prior felony conviction.
