Emeryville Man shot, killed in North Oakland

A man killed in a drive-by shooting Friday evening outside a North Oakland liquor store was identified by police Saturday as Shamarr D. Owens, 27, of Emeryville.

A 24-year-old Emeryville man who was also wounded in the shooting was in critical but stable condition, and is expected to recover. His name was not released. Police said the two men were friends.

The shooting occurred about 5:31 p.m. Friday in the 900 block of 43rd Street outside a liquor store, Officer Jason Andersen said. The men were inside a car when an occupant from another vehicle began shooting at them, police said.
