1 min read

A selection of Emeryville-centric articles from around the web that residents might find of interest:

  • Smashburger, a Colorado based burger chain that distinguishes itself with a process of “smashing” its burgers on the grill with a patented tool, will be opening up this year as part of a West Coast Expansion that will include nine new locations. Emeryville Wingstop owners Emon and Ladonna Toliver will be opening a franchise near Baskin Robbins apparently later this year.
  • The first phase of the massive Public Market renovation phase is underway with construction scheduled to continue through the first quarter of 2015. Vendor stalls will be converted into larger cafe’s and the sidewalk area will be expanded to accommodate more diners and increase the market’s street-presence.
  • Amtrak representatives, joined by Emeryville Mayor Jac Asher, kicked off Rail Safety Awareness month by posting a large banner inside the Emeryville Station. They are encouraging commuters to take the pledge to “Be Track Smart”and avoid preventable deaths by train to which California leads the nation in.
