The E’ville Year in Review: Top five posts of 2014. Help sustain hyperlocal news.

2 mins read

2014 was quite a year for The E’ville Eye and we want to personally thank all of our subscribers, commenters, contributors, sponsors & donators. In just our third year of existence as a hyperlocal news blog, we saw The E’ville Eye become Emeryville’s #1 news site (according to Google Search rankings) and saw traffic nearly triple from 2013. We were also honored as the East Bay’s Best Neighborhood Blog by East Bay Express.

Pacific Landscape Gallery, Webpass, Farley’s, Rotten City Pizza & All East Bay Properties have all stepped forward to align with residents by becoming sustaining sponsors (with a few more in the works). We’ve had contributors come & go (we’ll miss you Brenda!) but other engaged residents have stepped forward to share their opinions and perspectives. I look forward to helping further facilitate the dialogue our little city needs in 2015.

It’s always been the goal of this news site to represent as much of Emeryville as possible and use our collective voice to advocate for residents. City Hall is taking notice and they realize our readers represent the true voice of our city. We’ve lobbied the city to enter into contract with SeeClickFix to help better facilitate neighborhood issues and have gotten the city to include the Halleck-Beach Dog Park we proposed amongst its list of Capital Improvement Projects (more on that later). We have big plans for The E’ville Eye this year and we feel we’re just getting started … but we need your help.

If you’ve enjoyed reading our citizen-journalist powered news, please consider making a donation or even a monthly reoccurring contribution of whatever you can spare.
