French Dessert Company Petit Pot has picked Emeryville to expand their rapidly growing operations. Founder Maxime Pouvreau opted to move his company into a Park Avenue warehouse space ten times the size of its previous warehouse in South San Francisco.

The Hyatt Place hotel at Bay Street recently announced the sale of their property. The six-story, 175 room hotel opened in 2016. The City of Emeryville will collect 1.2% of the sale price as part of its transfer tax that goes in our general fund and helps fund city services & infrastructure projects. The buyer and sale price were not immediately known.

Emeryville-based Pirates Press, which facilitates the manufacturing of vinyl records, announced a partnership with music streaming service Bandcamp. The Oakland-Based company distinguishes itself from other streaming services by better supporting independent artists.

In addition, Ford G0Bike announced it is anticipating getting its electric-assisted ‘plus’ bikes back on the road as early as June. They removed the popular bikes from service after some braking issues were reported. Ford GoBike maintains a warehouse on Park & Hubbard.

Petit Pot Founder Maxime Pouvreau is moving his company into a space 10 times the size of its previous warehouse. His customers didn’t leave him with much of a choice.

Manufacturing and selling its diminutive French desserts, Petit Pot has tripled its headcount, quadrupled its revenue since 2016 and gone national. The jars of characteristically French pots de crème (pots of custard) and riz au lait (rice pudding) have hit the shelves of about 1,500 stores, including Whole Foods, Safeway and Publix.

CBRE Arranges Sale of the Hyatt Place Emeryville/San Francisco Bay Area

CBRE has announced the sale of the Hyatt Place Emeryville/San Francisco Bay Area, a 175-unit hotel located in Emeryville.

Henry Bose and Mark McDermott of CBRE Hotels in San Francisco represented the seller in the transaction. Opened in 2016, the six-story hotel contains 175 units and enjoys a premier location in the vibrant Bay Street lifestyle center, surrounded by major corporate employers, such as Pixar, Novartis, Peet’s Coffee corporate office and the Joint Bio Energy Institute. Hyatt Place offers visitors access to a fitness center, a patio with fire pits, a business center and a total of 150 parking spaces, along with sweeping views of downtown San Francisco and the Bay.

Bandcamp Announces Vinyl Service, Partnering with Pirates Press in Emeryville

Bandcamp, the popular music streaming and merchandise service newly headquartered in Oakland, announced on Wednesday an upcoming expansion into vinyl manufacturing as an added service to independent artists.

In a blog post, Bandcamp co-founder and chief executive Ethan Diamond described vinyl as “an important expression of fandom,” and often inaccessible for small artists to manufacture due to cost and complexity. Only a small percentage of artists sell vinyl through Bandcamp, yet record sales on the site have grown 600 percent in the past five years. Bandcamp aims to streamline production and order fulfillment, he explained, with “no out-of-pocket costs” to artists.

Ford GoBike to bring back electric pedal-assist bikes in June

Ford GoBike, which recently pulled its popular electric pedal-assist bicycles from its Bay Area short-term bike rental system, will bring them back in June.

The company suddenly removed the bikes from service in April, citing complaints about their brakes. Some riders complained that the brakes grabbed too aggressively, sending them over the handlebars or causing them to fall and injure themselves.
