Bay Street Invites Public to Create Diversity Wall

An event every week that begins at 11:00am on Saturday, repeating until March 2, 2019
Join Bay Street and KBLX 102.9 FM radio personality Sterling James at the first ever Bay Street Art Wall to celebrate love and diversity through artistic expression. Free to participate, all ages are invited to visit Bay Street on three Saturdays in February 16 & 23 & March 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30 from 11AM to 3PM. to paint 12” x 12” acrylic tiles, with images that visually demonstrate diversity. The tiles will then be secured and displayed on the fencing along the corner of Christie Ave and Shellmound Street, near the Hyatt Place, to help raise awareness for diversity. Local Emeryville school children will also participate in the creation of the tiles and Bay Street will donate to Lend A Hand Foundation, and Oakland-based nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for impoverished children youth and families. Once all 960 tiles are created, the art wall will remain on display for the entire new year.
